Comme des Garçons, AW13, Paris.

There is always a certain generosity in the way that the Comme des Garçons garments are created, more specifically a generosity of volume. This means that when Rei Kawakubo does a take on ribbon roses, then we are not shown mere puny, silky roses but are instead shown large masses of fabric that seem to grow from oversized tailored garments.

My work-in-progress for a Self Portrait project for my computer based art class…haha yeah its very much still in progress.
I really just got started editing this morning, so the final product may, or will likely, look at least a decent bit, if not probably a lot different from this version here.
But I’m surprisingly liking it so far and so I thought I’d share it :)

Design Duos: One + One
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, Proenza Schouler
Together since: Parsons, 1999
Relationship status: Partners in life and work.
Which one’s which: To paraphrase Loïc Prigent: Jack is the cute one and Lazaro is the cute one.
Division of labor: They sketch separately and compare notes.
Biggest point of contention: It’s part of the creative process.

Officially have been hired on for a paid internship for this summer!

FUCK YEAH.

The company is super cool and laid back and is a mix of a corporate and design and artsy departments. I’m going to learn so much and will be making money too (don’t know how much yet haha but still its a PAID internship so yeah).

I’m so excited!

So this is my event poster so far…
I guesssssss I don’t hate it…I guess, but I’m embarrassed to be posting it, but felt like risking the embarrassment…so here it is so far…
It isn’t due until Thursday so nothing is final about this and there are some things I need to fix still…
